Bookshop notice: To help prevent the spread of the coronavirus and to protect the wellbeing of our customers and staff, please note that the Bower House bookshop is currently closed and the central London bookshop has limited hours.
Online orders notice: We are still open for online business. Please read our policies for safely packaging and dispatching orders.
We apologise that we may be a little slower in delivering to you, and we thank you for your patience during this time. The government’s advice is that there is little chance of the virus spreading via parcels, but we have implemented all the recommended hygiene standards to ensure maximum safety throughout packaging and delivery. In order to ensure that your books are packaged and delivered to you safely, we practise the following:
We have a limited number of workers packaging books during this health crisis, and they are trained to pack books for their own health and safety and that of those who will receive the books.
We ensure social distancing and comply with the government’s advice. Our packing area is operating with a reduced number of staff with limited hours.
Additional safeguarding is implemented when packaging your goods, including ensuring all work places are clean, hygienic, and wiped with disinfectant regularly. Handwashing is practiced throughout the day.
Each package you receive is carefully placed and sealed within a plastic pocket and then placed in a padded envelope or cardboard packaging material.
No staff is to access the premises if they have a fever, a new continuous cough, are feeling unwell, or have a family member that has been unwell.
Once your order is completed, it is picked up by Royal Mail for delivery (view Royal Mail’s policies).
