Crucial Points is a Bible study designed to take you through the Bible from a perspective of the major, or crucial points, in the Bible. We may liken these crucial points to diamonds in a box. There are many useful, enlightening, and enjoyable items in the Bible, but there are certain points that simply are ‘diamonds’. These ‘diamonds’ or crucial points are very useful in helping us to see not just the main points in a verse of a chapter or book of the Bible but even to gain an understanding of the main points of the entire Bible. We hope that you will thoroughly enjoy and be helped in your study of the Word of God through Crucial Points.
Our Crucial Points Bible study has been arranged in a particular way to ensure that whatever time you have, you will still be able to enter into the depths of the Bible and enjoy God in His Word. These studies are designed as self-study, and we generally suggest taking one crucial point per week. However, there is also much help and benefit to be gained by studying these points as a group.
Each crucial point is divided into four major sections:
Title: Each crucial point begins with a title. It may seem simple, but if you simply get the title, you've actually begun to touch and see the diamond. It may take seconds, but we encourage you to read, pray, and consider the title as the beginning of this Bible study.
One-minute Bible study: This section is exactly what it sounds like. We intend for it to take one minute. Prayerfully read over the Scripture reading, and read the focus statement to gain an understanding of where in the Bible this crucial point comes from and what is the point on which we should focus. Of course, you may enjoy the Word so much that you linger for longer than one minute, but if you only have one minute, you can still study the Bible.
A few more minutes: The Word of God is wonderful, but we often need help in understanding it. The rich and extensive ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee does just this. This section presents excerpts from their written ministry that unlock and unveil the Bible to us through a few paragraphs that will take just a few minutes to read.
Going deeper: As you have taken a few seconds, one minute, and a few more minutes to study the Bible, you will realise that the Word of God indeed is good for food and that there is much more to be discovered and enjoyed. This final section presents (1) further readings (available as printed books or for free online at ministrybooks.org.), (2) key footnotes from your Recovery Version of the New Testament, (3) online audio messages, and (4) study questions.
